Why do conservatives hate history?

Via Pharyngula, I found this conservative nitwit complaining that the Left is being discriminatory because ... they're opposed to discrimination:

Do the Left not understand that the majority of Californians want to keep the definition of marriage as it has been since the beginning of time?

From the Only True Bible(TM), 1 Kings 11:

And [Solomon] had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.

"Beginning of time" does not mean what you think it means, dumbass.

Clearly Solomon was a liberal, a Democrat, and quite possibly gay. It's the only rational way to explain the lack of respect for such a sacred institution between a man and a woman. and a woman. and a woman. and a... wait, he must have been Mormon, too.

Your comment about King Solomon having multiple wives is a non sequitur. The definition of marriage has never included same sex relationships. How conceited one must be to contend that every generation to live before us is either too stupid or too bigoted to not allow gay marriage.

Anonymous commenters are stupid, conceited bigots who are cowards, besides.

What? It's a well-known fact.

The generations before us didn't discriminate against gays because they weren't an outspoken part of the community, for obvious reasons, so our ancestors busied themselves with discriminating against blacks and women instead. Thank God the liberals fixed that one, gay marriage is next, guys. We need to stop picking out a group of people that are 'different' and calling them 'inferior' and undeserving of the same social status as the rest of us.
