Sweet Serenity

Just to show up David, I'm letting you know that the international trailer for Serenity has been released. (Be warned, something about that file, and all the mirrors I can find online, locks my computer up 1:43 in, just when the Serenity logo comes onscreen. Still worth it.)

Even better, is this line I found on the IMDB trivia page:

According to an interview with Alan Tudyk, this is the first movie in a three-picture Firefly contract with Universal.
Three Firefly pictures? Excuse me, I'll be in my bunk.

Studios buy out contracts all the time. There were supposed to be more Daredevil movies, for example, but that made a speedy bite into the dust. Serenity will have to do very well both in theatres and on DVD to convince Universal it's worth starting a franchise.

Don't get me wrong, of course I'm all for it (I'm the one passing a CD with the trailer on it around at work. I should be on the Serenity payroll. Or Sean Maher can work it off in trade). Just saying, don't get your hopes up. We need a big damn hit, first.
